Background
The Upwelling is a Queens-based rock trio influenced by Pink Floyd, The Police, Depeche Mode, and Spiritualized. They approached theMechanism with a need to create a poster for a tour with Thrid Eye Blind that resonated with their growing audience.
Solution
theMechanism began working in a layered style with Illustrator to create a multi-layered illustration with a focus on an icon/image for their recently recorded song "Love is Dead." The handwriting font Dakota was used opposite a bold Machine typeface to create a common ground to the layered imagery in the illustration.
